THE ONLY NARROW BODY SHAPE ON THE MARKET?

This shape is not followed by the trend and it is developed with true dedicated Freeriders. Wide body shapes are more stable for uphauling the sail but we agreed that this is needed more for entry level beginner boards and the Freerider is the more advanced rider with different needs. Our shape has a straighter outline and is a bit longer and the advantages are simply a more comfortable and balanced sailing position with planning and upwind performance
 

SHAPE DETAILS

Optical aspect & Footpad:

With the new graphic aspect influenced by Italian designer Fabio Canella we are taking a new direction and be more coloured while still keep it simple.

The 6mm thick over-dotted diamond groove grip pad has an extra 6mm soft sponge under-layer which makes it total 12mm and very nice and comfortable.

Shape Info “short”:

The extra length on the flat area under the straps is more stable across the axle and forgives wrong foot pressure so that the board keeps on riding like in cruise control modus. Besides that, passive planning (no pumping) is significantly better. The narrower width makes it easier to step into the straps and have both legs balanced in a comfortable position which makes any sailing direction especially going upwind much easier.

Shape Info “Detailed”:

Scoop-Rocker:

Extra longer flat between the straps for better passive planning and more longitudinal stability when sailing along.

Volume distribution:

An almost even foot position height under the straps makes the ride and the upwind sailing almost feel effortless and the flat deck provides the save standing platform.

Outline:

The narrower width and the more parallel lines are closer to the center line and makes it much easier to find the straps and step into the sailing position and keep on driving the board to the speed you feel comfortable with. As well the jibing is easier and the narrow width tilt effortless to the leeward side into the curve and the wider tail keeps the board length in the water and drive through the jibes much easier.

Bottom Shape:

Double concaved V with stabilizing side flats from nose to the front strap to absorb the chop and give it a comfortable ride and then blend into a flat panel V all the way to the tail for all-round cruising stability and easy rail to rail transitions in manoeuvres.

Rails / Tuck:

The boxy rails make the maximum width float stable in non-planning conditions. As well trough the jibe the rail floats nicely and just keeps on going through the whole turn. The sharp tail edges show a clean water release for best planning and acceleration performance.

Deck Shape:

Both strap positions are designed to have enough dome and curve to have a comfortable stance when using any of the inside or outside positions.

Deep Tuttle Foilbox

Inserts:

Inside and outside strap position on both straps with an extra center possibility in the tail area. Each insert has 4-positions for individual settings.

CONSTRUCTION

For this board the blind testing with plain white boards proved that our Biax glass fibre is the choice over the Carbon construction. The reason is simple, the Carbon hard and physical and distributes the vibration much more and the Biax glass fibre has the extra flex and absorbs the vibration for a more comfortable and controlled ride whereas most riders proofed to be faster on head to head speed tests.

The new GT-R Plus swaps the 95 Standard fuselage for the new 95 Plus fuselage. 

This new fuselage shifts the front wing forwards and reduces tail wing angle to make it more aligned with the front wing, creating what we call a High Efficiency Foil Geometry (NZ Pat. App. No. 751177). With both wings flying through the water at more parallel angles, you release more speed, you get quicker acceleration and more control.

Choose this foil if you want a racing allrounder. It's fast, it goes upwind and flies on the reach without being too powerful.

THE FOIL 

STARBOARD IQFOIL FOIL SET

Back to back 2017/2018 World Champion and Vice World Champion, making it the most successful racing foil in windsurfing to date: Starboard’s Race foil started the iQFoil project and it is the foil that made foiling in the Olympics a possibility.
Its innovative racing geometry was the breakthrough that enabled foiling to cover Windsurfing Olympics’ wind range and performance requirements.
Compared to the original Race foil, the iQFoil foil set has been upgraded with a stiffer UHM Carbon mast and a 900 front wing for extra light-wind performance.
It comes with two new Plus fuselages, the 115cm Plus for upwind downwind racing and the 95cm Plus for higher winds and racing formats with more reaching.
The Plus fuselages have an adjustable tail wing angle that allows the rider to increase control in high winds or increase power in light winds.

Tail Wing Adjustment

iQFoil sets are supplied with six angle spacers (-2° / -1.5° / -1° / -0.5° / 0° / +1°) and with a new 255 tail wing that has -2° built in. 

The recommended tail wing angle on the 115 Plus and 95 Plus is -2°, so we recommend starting with the 0° spacer. You can reduce tail wing angle up to 2 more degrees by using the -2° spacer, for more speed and control, or increase by up to 1° by using the +1° spacer, for more power.

Two Fuselages: 115cm and 95cm

The iQFoil sets are supplied with both the 115 Plus fuselage and the 95 Plus fuselage. The 115 Plus is recommended for extra power and for maximum upwind/downwind performance. The 95 Plus fuselage is recommended for reaching courses, for long-distance marathons and higher GPS speeds. Other items included in the set: 900 Front Wing, 255 -2° Tail Wing and the Team Bag Size L.
