JP Australia 2026 Ultimate Wave S-TEC

RADICAL DOWN-THE-LINE WAVE BOARD

ADDING MAGIC TO THE ULTIMATE WAVE EXCELLENCE

Maximum control, radical turns, and a shape that delivers uncompromising wave riding: the Ultimate Wave is all about pure performance in down-the-line conditions with unmatched planing power for such a concept. Developed with input from our top riders we created the Ultimate Wave Board – lighter, faster, and more precise than ever.

The S-TEC construction, introduced in the previous season, remains a game-changer. This advanced build makes the Ultimate Wave boards around 500 grams lighter than earlier generations – and you feel it in every session.

This impressive weight reduction is achieved through:

* No paint

* Reduction of anti-slip, used only in standing areas

* Smaller pads – less EVA and less glue

* Elimination of the rear centre fin box
* Refined custom lamination process, with fibres prepared and laminated separately

Despite the reduced weight, durability remains at the proven level by replacing the Innegra material with more high-quality S-glass, combined with Biax-Carbon reinforcements and UD Carbon layers underneath the high-density PVC. Additionally, the bottom laminate now wraps around the rails instead of stopping at the tuck line but wraps around the rail. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, it acts as an additional stringer along the rails, providing more rigidity and strengthening the rail simultaneously.

This construction doesn’t just look sleek – it delivers a completely new riding sensation. The reduced weight brings the board alive under your feet, with performance and greater agility.

The ultimate windsurfing experience is riding clean waves down-the-line, which is the core purpose these boards are designed for. Each generation of our pure-wave boards has been refined to enhance this experience, and the previous lines were already masterpieces in this respect, earning titles on the IWT Wave tour and dominating the Aloha Classic over recent years. However, the current boards are even better, and we expect them to be even more successful in competitions. But whether you win or not, these boards are guaranteed to deliver an incredible ride and enhance your wave-sailing abilities. So, serious wave riders, get ready to up your performance and get even more out of everything from mediocre to epic conditions.

The positive feedback from riders using their Magic Wave on the world tour was instrumental in the development of these Ultimate Waves.

We aimed to bring some of that liveliness and agility to our down-the-line boards, creating an even more engaged and reliable ride so advanced wave sailors can push their limits further.

Shaper Werner Gnigler achieved this by blending the Magic Wave swallow tail with the Ultimate Wave nose. The result is a board that allows you to go more vertical and hit lips with greater confidence and control. These hybrid boards are fun to ride and incredibly controllable, regardless of wave height.

One of the most essential features of this shape is the straight centre scoop rocker line, paired with a lot more bottom curve along the rails. Werner combines this with an interesting Vee transformation that starts with a moderate Vee in the nose area, changes to a single concave between the straps, and finishes off with a slight Vee at the tail. This results in easy early planing and instant pace, allowing you to ride waves with more speed, confidence, control, and a noticeably more radical style.

The smooth outline and thin, soft rails finish off into a refined swallow tail – a must have feature on this kind of board for maximum grip in high speed turns and ultimate acceleration carving tight turns in smaller surf.

The fin box and standing positions are slightly further back compared to previous models, giving riders the ability to adjust their turns at any time with either front or back foot pressure. This allows for greater control and manoeuvrability on the wave, letting riders truly unleash their skills and creativity from small to giant surf.

QUAD FIN BOXES / NO FINS:

Efficient and economical: In 2026 the boards come with four slot boxes for the quad setup. The boxes for the side fins are even shorter for better performance. The rarely used alternative centre box was omitted for cost and weight reasons.

Most riders who are interested in a dedicated wave board already have their own favorite wave fins and do not need additional ones. Therefore, the boards are delivered without fins, which also helps to keep the costs low.

ALL-WAVE ALL-ROUNDER

BEST IN ALLROUND WAVE CLASS

A Magic formula for the perfect performance mix

Designing the next evolution in waveboards is no easy task. A great board must adapt to individual riding styles while performing across an incredibly wide range of conditions. With such a high bar set with the Ultimate Wave range next to it, the challenge was to develop a board that could stand proudly beside it—yet become the top choice for our team riders in their tour quiver to outperform their competitors also in less-than-ideal conditions. After countless hours of testing and refining multiple prototypes, we discovered a shape that not only met our expectations—but exceeded them.

Effortless planing, explosive drive, and seamless control—this is where the new Magic Wave truly lives up to its name. Incredibly fast onto the plane and with unmatched upwind performance, this board lets you position yourself perfectly to catch every wave. Once you’re on it, the board unfolds its MAGIC: whether you’re doing upwind turns or riding down-the-line, the Magic Move delivers unmatched acceleration and flow through every transition. Front foot or back foot—it adapts to your stance and style, giving you full confidence in every section of the wave.

S-TEC:

This year, the standout detail is our groundbreaking S-TEC technology, introduced for the first time in the JP lineup. The weight saving is impressive: This generation of Magic Wave boards is about 500 grams lighter! This is achieved through several key changes:

* No paint

* Reduction of anti-slip, used only in standing areas

* Smaller pads – less EVA and less glue

* Elimination of the rear centre fin box
* Refined custom lamination process, with fibres prepared and laminated separately

The durability maintained at the proven level by replacing the Innegra material with more high-quality S-glass, combined with Biax-Carbon reinforcements and UD Carbon layers underneath the high density PVC. Additionally, the bottom laminate no longer stops at the tuck line but wraps around the rail. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, it acts as an additional stringer along the rails, providing more rigidity and strengthening the rail simultaneously.

This not only creates a totally new look, but being more than a half kilogram lighter delivers a new riding sensation!

Shaper Werner Gnigler updated the outline of the Magic Wave what brings a new balance between control and manueverbility. A wider tail with the familiar swallow tail improves early planing and enhances maneuverability, especially for radical turns in smaller waves. A slightly narrower nose adds precision without compromising overall stability. Also Floating balance was a key design focus, helping riders cross white water more easily and get onto the plane faster, even in marginal conditions.

A more centered balance point allows for quicker rotations and more radical transitions on the wave. With stance and fin boxes shifted further back, the board delivers powerful back foot turns while maintaining exceptional control on the wave. The more parallel tail outline adds grip and precision, supporting both front and back foot riding styles.

The bottom shape has also been redefined. The proven concept—separating the flatter center scoop rocker line from the rail line—remains, but with refinements. Increased V in the front adds extra rail curve, making sharp turns smoother and an even more comfortable ride in choppy conditions.

Further performance gains come from tuning the footstrap and fin box positions. These details combine to deliver a Magic Wave that’s more reactive, more versatile, and simply more fun—whatever the conditions will have to offer.

Tech Features:

* S-glass technology
* High-density PVC in complete deck and bottom

* Double Carbon reinforcements in the foot strap area

* Biax-Carbon reinforcements in the whole standing area

* UD Carbon X-wrapping layers increase torsional stiffness and reinforce the standing area

* Fully overlapping parabolic S-Glass rail construction

* Omega Stringers in the bottom made of high-density PVC reinforced with UD carbon

ALL WATER ALL-ROUNDER

A L L - I N - O N E

The hunt for versatility stops right here – now with even more performance! The successful and versatile FSW line has been updated with a new trim to optimize performance, taking your ride to the next level. JPs have always been the true classics in the Freestyle Wave class because they are super balanced and incredible fun in the widest possible wind and water range. The current generation of all-water toys is no exception: they offer a compact feel, quick response in manoeuvres, and – thanks to the new trim – enhanced speed and control. As an additional treat, they not only sail faster but also feel more comfortable than all their predecessors. Uniting the core virtues almost every windsurfer is looking for, they truly tick all the boxes as all-in-one boards!

Werner Gnigler about his best ever line of all-rounders: “The proportions of width, length and volume are well proven, the key to overall ease, providing the perfect balance between all disciplines … and the bottom curve does the rest of the magic.”

Refined Trim – Enhanced Performance!:

Our successful FSW line has received a performance-driven update: we moved the side fins back closer to the centre fin. This trim adjustment creates more fin pressure for the rider, allowing for a 2 cm smaller centre fin – which means greater manoeuvrability without sacrificing planing power. The result? A more responsive board with a freer feel on the water’s surface, perfectly tuned for dynamic turns and a smooth ride.

Shape details:

The slim outline in the nose area provides the feel of lightness. The centred swing weight further enhances the compact feel and the great responsiveness in manoeuvres.

In the mid-section the outline is parallel creating a big surface for early planing and stability.

Just wide enough for good planing, the narrow tail allows you to maintain control during fast runs over choppy water and – together with the thin rails – bites hard into high speed carving turns and small waves without getting stuck.

The deck shape creates a comfortable stance for all foot strap positions, providing perfect board control and excellent responsiveness.

The thruster fin box setup in combination with the inboard strap option is the perfect tuning for maximum manoeuvrability. Alternatively, the outboard strap position matches best with a single fin setup and offers the best freeride solution.

Essential shape details:

The front section of the board features a significant Vee combined with double concaves making the board super comfortable and effortless to sail.

Starting between the straps and towards the tail, the Vee becomes less pronounced resulting in a very curvy rail line and thinned out rails. This is responsible for the outstanding manoeuvrability and grip during turns and further improves the wave heritage of these boards.

The rocker was reduced along the centre, not only boosting the performance level in blasting mode but also resulting in a more comfortable stance due to the loose and stable water position of the new shapes.

The 124 L version is proportionally slightly longer with a slightly wider tail to fit the needs of the target group in lighter winds. A perfectly balanced board with a huge range of use and on top of this, it is the most manoeuvrable and versatile JP board in this volume range. A real crowd pleaser!

The Freestyle Waves boards are built in JP’s light and super tough Carbon Innegra technology.

They all come with a thruster fin setup: The main fin box is a standard Powerbox partnered by two side Slotboxes with covers in case the side fins are not used. The side fins come in Carbon material. The main fin comes in G10 featuring a lot of area at the tip, a curvy outline and a smooth swept back rake angle. Thus, the fin provides a lot of drive and a secure, steady ride in combination with outstanding manoeuvrability.

It has been said before and has to be pointed out again: The Freestyle Wave concept is the ideal option for 99% of coastal-sailing recreational windsurfers. The Freestyle Wave offers so many tuning options that it can be set up perfectly for any given day, no matter what the conditions. It’s an ideal all-round high wind board for both, blasting and bump & jump sailing. It also shines as a powerful, all-round wave board for lighter winds, heavier sailors or difficult conditions and is great fun especially for huge jumps and fast carves in side to side onshore conditions.

JP Australia 2026 Freestyle S-TEC

FREESTYLE BOARD

FREESTYLE ELEVATED

This range of freestyle boards was developed in collaboration with JP’s freestyle experts Yentel Caers and Sam Esteve, and is designed for top-level performance. Our event winning shapes are short, responsive, and radical, allowing riders to spin, rotate, and pop with unparalleled speed and precision. Despite their liveliness, these boards still offer the early planing and speed potential of their predecessors. The tail provides a powerful pop for multiple rotations and more impressive freestyle moves all-round. All the cool moves you and the pros can pull off are lighter thanks to our last year introduced S-TEC construction which allows the most significant weight savings ever made in our Freestyle range and boost the boards’ performance to a whole new level.

At JP, we’ve always been at the forefront of freestyle board design, working closely with our team riders to push the limits and set new trends in the sport. Our current shapes are no exception, with a relentless focus on enhancing new school freestyle potential while maintaining our high standards of overall ride and performance.

Introduced last year, our groundbreaking S-TEC technology takes center stage in this year’s JP lineup. The weight saving is impressive: This generation of Freestyle boards is between 300 and 400 grams lighter! This is achieved through several key changes:

* No paint

* Reduction of anti-slip, used only in standing areas

* Smaller and thinner pads – less EVA and less glue

* Refined custom lamination process, with fibres prepared and laminated separately

Durability has been maintained at the proven level by replacing the Innegra material with more high-quality S-glass, Biax-Carbon reinforcements and UD Carbon layers underneath the high-density PVC. Additionally, the bottom laminate no longer stops at the tuck line but wraps around the rail. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, it acts as an additional stringer along the rails, providing more rigidity and strengthening the rail simultaneously.

This not only created a totally new look, but being about 300 grams lighter delivers an improved riding sensation! With these new boards, you can be sure that you’re getting the very best in freestyle technology, backed by years of experience and a dedication to excellence that’s second to none.

Success in modern freestyle depends on double power moves, so we focused our development on speed during pop in order to make triple moves the next standard. To achieve this, shaper Werner Gnigler has made the boards slightly shorter than their predecessors, which reduces swing weight and improves response speed during pop. This makes sliding moves and aerial spins faster and more controlled, bringing triple moves well within the boards’ range. Although shorter than previous JP shapes, the new boards are still longer than many other models on the market, ensuring accessible all-around performance in all conditions.

The flat scoop rocker line generates the lift needed for early planing and high-speed performance and our new ultra-light technology enhances that enormously.

The deck’s dome is now crucial in ensuring riding stability not just in a regular stance but also when riding switch. As most moves are now executed in switch stance, the board design must accommodate this additional task. The subtle dome is the perfect balance between pushing for performance while still maintaining stability during moves.

The tail provides a balance between width and thickness, giving ample flotation while allowing the rider to sink it for a powerful take-off. The light-weight makes the boards fly higher and they feel lighter and easier to throw around in the air.

The bottom shape features a defined V from the mast base forward, which is combined with a soft tuck line. This combination supports a smooth ride and forgiveness during sliding moves.

We incorporate a flat V bottom shape towards the tail, along with a pronounced tuck line. This combination offers exceptional grip, immediate power, and a high-riding water position, while also providing a loose feel to the board.

The boards come with double footstrap plugs for maximum control.

More than just conventional freestyle boards, all sizes come with JP’s reinforced Foil-Powerbox and their compact and wide shapes make them ideal toys for foil riding! This widens the range of use of your “small” gear: Just mount a foil and fly – while other freestylers with their normal fins are stuck on the beach waiting for the wind to pick up. JP’s short Freestyle boards provide enough ease and stability to pick up this segment of our sport quite easily. Advanced foil freestylers can push their limits and pull-off their first crazy moves at the EFPT “foilstyle” events.

Although not specially designed and tuned for it, the shape dimensions also allow for the use of a wing.

TECH FEATURES

* S-glass technology

* High-density PVC in complete deck and bottom

* Biax-Carbon reinforcements in the whole standing area

* Double Carbon reinforcements in the foot strap area

* UD Carbon X-wrapping layers increase torsional stiffness and reinforce the standing area

MANOEUVRE-ORIENTED FREERIDE BOARD

Stunning boards which do everything you‘d expect from a freeride board – and they do it exceptionally well and exceptionally easily!

Stunning boards which do everything you‘d expect from a freeride board – and they do it exceptionally well and exceptionally easily!
Feeling playful and small, they sit high on the water, delivering the lively and sporty feel which makes windsurfing so exciting. They are fast, yet super easy to sail and control. These wide and thin boards willingly plane early. Their jibing potential impresses riders of all levels!

Since its inception, this line has been a magic blend of everything an advanced rider wants from their funboard. While the originals focussed on ease, the second generation turned out more agile and lively. The shapes of this 3rd generation feature significantly improved control at speed and through chop, resulting in a sporty and energetic character which is incredibly easy to handle.
Consequently, these boards ride smooth and fast. They jibe willingly and carve into and through turns with ease. They surprise being JP’s most playful and manoeuvre oriented freeride boards. The magic of these boards pushes the performance and fun factor to the next level.

The Magic Ride is the undisputed ‘Gentleman of the Turn’ in the freeride class: In jibes it feels effortless and refined even in challenging sea states. Still featuring its respected autopilot qualities, the MR requires little input from the rider and its forgivingness will pamper the intermediate rider and increase their success rate in jibes. It’s never been easier to enter the turn even at lower speeds and exit still on the plane – and planing through jibes is everybody’s desire!

At the same time its rail bite and its reliability when carving steady arcs will encourage the more advanced rider to push harder and corner with full dedication: Tighter and tighter turns, classic freestyle like duck jibes and carving 360s will be the name of the game. The Magic Ride can be quoted a bigger Freestyle Wave and is the most playful and forgiving of JP’s manoeuvre freeride boards.

The true freerider: What is astonishing about this board line is its ease and smoothness. You’ll step on it and everything will happen naturally and predictably. The feel is “familiar” – like putting on an old pair of shoes: It just fits! Relaxed and confident you’ll achieve more speed than on previous generations of freeride boards. Despite these easy-riding characteristics, performance and agility are not compromised at all. British WINDSURF once stated that the biggest surprise was its speed and that its performance is comfortable if not exceptional. The hull feels quick, lively and responsive. Planing readily, it provides traction which inspires you to push your fun and adrenaline and to let the board fly on its fin – in control!

Magic Ride 159: Longer than the other sizes, it is stable and accessible and thus the perfect board for anyone stepping down from a beginner board with daggerboard. It is specially tuned for easy, early planing! Experiencing the planing sensation and getting hooked on the feeling happens naturally.

SMALL MANOEUVRE FREEMOVE

Easy-going medium to high wind freemove boards for freeriding and bump & jump blasting. They excel in manoeuvres and they willingly plane through the gybe with speed. Ideal for high wind freeride windsurfing on fresh water as well as on the sea.

Now in its third year, the Magic Move continues to redefine the standards of the free move segment. These boards target riders seeking a 90 to 110 L sporty board for easy and early planing. This dynamic design offers an exhilarating ride, excelling in speed and maneuverability. It is the new ‚Master of the Carve‘ for sporty and aggressive jibes and to play in small swell. It is great for riding open ocean swells and can even tackle reef and coastal waves, it remains unstoppable. Shaper Werner Gnigler’s praise for the board’s versatility and comfort is echoed by many enthusiastic owners and riders: “Planing jibes and effortless planing guaranteed!”

The Magic Move is more than only a small Freeride board. It better is compared to the Freestyle Wave than pure freeride designs, which are usually larger and designed for lighter wind and flat water. Therefore, it stands proudly next to the Freestyle Wave as its powerful brother.
The Magic Move supports riders when it matters: Thanks to its wider tail, it planes earlier and easier than the Freestyle Wave. It stays on the plane when the wind is fluky and takes more speed through planing manoeuvres. And it is clearly more manoeuvrable and feels more at home in swell than previous small JP freeride designs.

Consequently Werner used the Freestyle Waves as his starting point for development and adapt a few parameters to achieve the desired improvements. Here they are…

Shape details:
Compared to our Freestyle Wave line the Magic Moves are slightly longer, wider and equipped with a noticeably wider tail with additional volume. The outline in the mid-section of the board is kept rather parallel, offering a wide planing surface. This in combination with the even volume distribution makes the shapes very stable when non-planing and lifts the rider onto the plane effortlessly with almost no pumping needed.

A unique design feature of these boards is the refined new rail shapeLifting the apex point along the midsection towards the nose creates the extra required lift. This helps tremendously to maintain speed during the jibe and exit with speed.

The Step Rail
STEP RAIL
Towards the tail the rail shape tapers down and finishes off with a noticeable step rail. This feature allows the use of a wider tail with sufficient volume and still guarantees optimal grip and bite in tight turns when hitting white-water.

The shapes use a flat scoop rocker line designed for early planing and high speed. The pronounced double concave V in the front works like suspension when hitting chop.
Reducing the V towards the area between the foot straps and increasing it again towards the tail disconnects the rail shape from the centre scoop rocker line. This also supports the outstanding mix of performance and manoeuvrability.

The Magic Moves are equipped with various foot strap options and a single finPowerbox for the perfect customizable set up.

The boards’ Freestyle Wave fins feature a lot of area at the tip, a curvy outline and a smooth, swept back rake angle. Thus, the fin provides a lot of drive and a secure, steady ride in combination with outstanding manoeuvrability.

Summing it up, the boards plane earlier than Freestyle Wave boards and are much better at taking speed through the jibe and staying on the plane during turns. Compared to freeride boards they are more versatile and loose, thus livelier and more fun.

SPORTIVE FREERIDE BOARD

JP’s popular and successful freeride line, positioned at the heart of the category, continues to impress with the four refined shapes!

JP’s popular and successful freeride line, positioned at the heart of the category, continues to impress with the four refined shapes that were thoroughly updated last year. This third generation of Super Ride boards, developed by designer Werner Gnigler, elevates the beloved all-rounder even further. The 2025 redesign improved stability and control, making the boards more accessible and comfortable across a wider range of conditions, while enhancing their performance without compromising speed or agility. The “SR” line maintains its key features: perfectly balanced freeride boards that are easy to handle, sporty and fast, and — above all — exceptional jibing machines, delivering the ultimate ‘super ride’ experience.

Shape Details:

The Super Ride features a wider tail and overall width, creating a stable platform with a big planing area. This design, combined with an efficient rocker line, supports early planing and ensures smooth performance in different conditions. The shape reduces drag and improves efficiency, allowing the board to plane in a higher water position for a smooth ride and consistent control, even in choppy water. This balance of stability and responsiveness enables confident acceleration and high-speed windsurfing.

The rail shape has a high apex point that generates additional lift, especially noticeable during fast turns, maintaining speed and allowing for fully planing jibes. A smooth deck radius provides comfortable foot placement for both inner foot strap and performance setups closer to the rail. Sharp edges near the tail esure control and promote a clean, turbulence-free water release, maximizing speed and agility. The streamlined outline towards the nose supports efficient water flow and maneuverability.

FIN:

The Tuttlebox CNC G10 RIDE fin shapes of the Wood Pro models were completely updated in 2025, available in sizes 38, 40, 42, and 44. These fins feature an even outline with a shorter chord length at the trailing edge, reducing drag and providing higher speeds with a lighter feel. The design of these fins complements the board’s balance of performance and ease of use.

PERFORMANCE FREERIDE BOARD

Sticking to their proven formula of offering easy handling at incredible speed, these free-race shapes are comfortable and easy to sail.

Sticking to their proven formula of offering easy handling at incredible speed, these free-race shapes are comfortable and easy to sail. They release early, accelerate incredibly fast and fly freely over flatwater and chop alike. The comfortable stance will give you the confidence to push the boards and go as fast as possible. Due to their incredible control, they offer higher top speeds for the recreational sailor than World Cup slalom boards. It is really easy to rail-up and carve into powerful and dynamic jibes. Overall, they are JP’s fastest and most enjoyable free-race boards ever!

Offering huge performance potential for an experienced rider, they are super-efficient on all tracks and especially on reaches to broad reaches. Armed with plenty of traction they inspire confidence to easily control the high-speed flight. It is easy to exploit the full performance potential as the stance is relaxed and you are totally connected to the hull when transferring maximum sail power for more and more acceleration.

Shape Details

The shapes are based on the slalom board concept but tuned to suit the demand and physical strength of performance-oriented recreational windsurfers. As such, these Super Sports feature several elements of our Slalom line:

  • Being short they feel very compact
  • The parallel outline maximises the planing surface at the mast base lifting the boards onto the plane instantly.
  • The centred swing weight gives great top end control.
  • The deck concave around the mast base reduces the volume and lowers the pivot point of the rig for additional control.
  • The bottom curve and V-flow of the Slalom boards were adjusted to improve comfort and jibing ability. This efficiently contributes to the early release, loose ride and high water position.
  • The tail configuration creates on the one hand a wider outline at the tail while at the same time reducing the overall volume.
  • The thinned-out rails throughout the whole board length combine comfort and efficiency. They provide tight turns and easier jibing. Exiting the turn with speed will be as easy as going fast in a straight line.
  • The tail cut-outs are responsible for efficient release and easy trimming of the board for a fast and comfortable ride.
  • The tail outline and deck shape offer great leverage for better acceleration and top end performance.

TECH FEATURES

LIGHTWIND FREERIDE EVOLUTION

No need for foiling! Almost no board planes as early AND effortlessly as JP’s Super Lightwind.

Since its introduction in 2011 it has occupied an almost unrivalled position in the market as one of the only dedicated light wind machines in any brand’s range! Planing in almost no wind and reaching top speed immediately, it rides comfortably, smoothly and incredibly easily for its size.
This is JP’s 5th shape generation of this unique board design and like its predecessors, it benefits from the shape evolutions of the Slalom and Super Sport board and also from the HydroFoil performance boards, too! Consequently, this is JP’s hottest toy ever for all light wind days, no matter if you plan to set up the board with fin or foil.
You have to try it to believe how much fun you can have in almost no wind: Light wind blasting!

The first priority on Shaper Werner Gnigler’s design brief was to combine outstanding early planing performance with an electrifying sensation and a user friendly ride.
To achieve this, the outline is long resulting in a even outline curve for a smooth and effortless transition from non-planing to planing.

Another consequence of this is that the rider benefits from a comfortable, parallel stance and the power is distributed evenly from both legs onto the rail. For a board this size, the shape feels small and alive under your feet, yet is much easier to control than previous models. Definitely a highlight of this shape!

The easy ride and control also show in the board’s jibing ability. Not only does the outline take credit for manoeuvrability, but the thin and smooth rail shape – especially noticeable in the rear – allows for perfect stance and comfort in all of the various options of footstrap placements, perfectly suited for fin and foil use.

The concave deck lowers the pivot point of the mast base, reduces swing weight and provides additional control when pushing the limits and in carving manoeuvres. The sail foot is pulled lower to naturally close the gap between sail and board in order to further enhance light wind efficiency.

The bottom features a ‘transforming Vee flow’ – the Vee is strongly pronounced in front of the mast base for a smooth ride and low-friction touch downs, it decreases between the foot straps and opens up again towards the tail. Thus, the board rides high and loose, ironing out all chop. The transforming V results in a curvy rail line which makes jibing smoother and helps to exit the turn at full speed.

Big cut-outs provide the perfect mix of release and lengthy rail line for control when sailed with fin. They thin-out the rails in the tail making it easy to rail up the board at high speeds and to carve through jibes. When foiling, they also offer extra flexibility, loading up the wings for take-off.

The board doesn’t require a foil to be big fun in super light winds but for everybody who wants to try, JP’s Foil-Tuttlebox makes it an amazing foil weapon. The board’s volume and size not only get it up on the foil to fly super early, but the width provides the leverage to control the lift of the foil when the winds pick up and the pace increases.

COMPETITION SLALOM BOARD

Full Control, Full Speed !

Control and top speed – that’s what it takes to reach the podium. JP’s five Slalom boards are built for blasting at PWA competition speed, rounding jibes at full speed, and maintaining precise control across a wide range of conditions. Their stability also benefits lighter riders, keeping them in control even when fully overpowered, while allowing rapid acceleration to top speed. The new SL 72 pushes performance even further: optimized hull aerodynamics, refined rail and deck shapes, and a higher water position let it slice through chop effortlessly, accelerate faster, and stay rock-solid through the most demanding jibes. S-TEC construction combines a striking look with reduced weight and enhanced stiffness, enabling earlier planing, easier handling, and higher top-end speed. Whether chasing the podium or pushing personal limits, the SL delivers the perfect balance of power, responsiveness, and confidence.

S-TEC
The S-TEC construction used across JP’s race boards delivers a combination of very low weight and high stiffness. This is achieved through a carefully considered design:

* No paint
* Anti-slip coating limited to the standing areas
* Compact pads with minimal EVA and glue
* A refined custom lamination process with fibres prepared and laminated separately

This construction provides early planing, easy handling, and maximum performance on the water.

The New 72:

In the highly competitive SL world we are constantly working to improve our range, the SL 72 has been upgraded to significantly increase overall speed by trimming the board to a higher water position, reducing wetted surface and drag. This allows riders to go faster while maintaining greater stability and control in rough conditions.

During the development, the hull’s aerodynamics were optimized, particularly in the nose area. A redesigned rail and deck shape in front of the mast base ensures smooth airflow over the deck, keeping the board stable and efficient even in challenging conditions. Towards the tail, the outline and deck shape were smoothed, especially around the back footstrap, offering a more connected feel and a comfortable stance.

These updates also improve gybing ability, giving more control when entering at high speed and exiting the turn, making riders more competitive not only in straight-line speed but also around the mark.

Key features retained from the rest of the range include:

  • Smooth scoop rocker line and transforming V-flow – strongly pronounced in front of the mast base, tapering down between the foot straps, then opening towards the tail. This reduces drag, supports a high and loose water position, and facilitates control during gybes to maintain speed.
  • High apex rail shape – generates lift for early planing, acceleration, and stability during gybes.
  • Tail tuck line with double stepped cutout – maximizes control, release, and speed.
  • Thoughtful footstrap positioning – enables efficient power distribution and easy strap entry/exit for gybes.

The general concept of our SLALOM line:

When designing and fine tuning this line, our focus is to increase the average speed across the racecourse, paying special attention to jibing where some of the biggest gains can be made during a race. Here, the target is to maintain speed throughout the turn and to exit faster.

The shapes offer a great, locked, and stable riding position. Far less effort is required to reach and maintain top speed and all of them provide great early planing power and a wide range of use. The tails of these boards are wide and provide lots of leverage towards the fin, resulting in more power and control.

The smooth deck shape guarantees a super comfortable stance. The rider preserves energy to push his limits on longer runs.

All sizes feature an additional pad wedge between the tail straps providing a more connected feel.

Each board size features its individual tail Cut-Out configuration in the bottom to find the perfect mix of release and lengthy rail line for control, for example, the first Cut-Outs of the bigger boards start much further forward, and the curve of the Cut-Outs increases towards the tail.

The target is always efficient water release as well as an even water flow around the fin to provide steady fin pressure for permanent power and top speed. The Slalom 62.5, 66.72 amd 76 feature Double Step Cut-Outs, meaning their two cut-outs have different heights.

From the mid-section of the board towards the nose we lifted the apex point of the rail. That way we gained some volume in the rail which helps exiting jibes with speed.

Beside the aerodynamic deck shape, we used an additional recess for the deck box. The pivot point of the mast base drops and provides additional control when pushing the limits and during the jibe. “Close the gap”: The lowered sail foot creates the most efficient airflow.

Six core design elements guarantee the perfect set-up for PWA racing:

DUAL TAIL OUTLINES – individually adjusted to each board size. The Cut-Out configuration reduces the outline width and the wetted surface of the bottom for less drag and higher speeds. The deck outline above the cut-outs is wider which results in a further outboard rear strap position: The rider can load more power onto the fin for more control and speed. The Double Step Cut-Outs of the 62.5 and 76 are parts of this individual shape adjustment.

TRANSFORMING VEE FLOW along the bottom – the Vee is strongly pronounced in front of the mast base, decreasing between the foot straps and opening again towards the tail. Thus, the board rides high and loose, ironing out all the chop. The transforming V results in a curvy rail line which makes jibing smoother and helps to exit the turn at full speed.

COMPACT CONCEPT – The parallel outline in the mid-section of the short board maximizes the planing surface at the mast base, lifting the boards onto the plane instantly.

THIN PROFILE – in the nose area reduces drag since this is the part which is affected most by the wind. This, in combination with a aerodynamic deck, means we managed to keep the swing weight centred for great top end control.

DECK SHAPES – Stance

A tiny but essential advantage: The comfortable and ergonomic deck shape guarantees a relaxed stance, allowing the rider to focus on going faster.

DECK SHAPES – Efficiency

The board features the proven aerodynamic deck reducing swing weight and now comes with an additional recess for the deck box, dropping the pivot point of the mast base. As a result, the sail foot seals the gap between the board and sail providing ultimate efficiency as well as additional control when pushing the limits and during the jibe.

The boards feature a standard Deep Tuttle box and are not approved for foiling.

WIND-FOIL PERFORMANCE SPORTIVE & COMPETITION

Performance Foiling at Ease

JP’s HydroFoil machines were one of the very first specialised boards for foiling and they were trendsetters right from the start of the foil revolution. The overall range of use and the all-round appeal of the first two generations made them extremely popular and successful on the market. These two shapes of the third generation can best be summarized as user-friendly scaled-down versions of the 'HydroFoil Slalom' models.
The 133 and 155 represent JP’s most balanced mix of user-friendliness combined with top foil performance. They are very efficient and fast, super comfortable to ride and easy to handle.

The predecessors were already great and only full-on race designs challenged their performance. But the success and the improved feel of JP’s performance foil race boards was undeniable, and shaper Werner Gnigler wanted to transfer these benefits to the recreational foil class, getting rid of all superfluous volume and width. As a result, the HydroFoils are super comfortable and easy to sail. In fact, their ease is the key to their success and the base for the incredible speed. Compare it to regular windsurfing, the same connection exists between the pure performance and the freerace class: once the Slalom boards get substantially better or faster, these advantages are transferred into the freerace shapes, the Super Sports.

Shaper Werner Gnigler states: “We remained true to our concept, offering a pure foil board. I kept my focus on making fast foiling easy and accessible, but still extremely exciting. Hence, I improved stability, comfort and control because – once airborne – these are the prerequisites for a fast run on all tracks.”

Shape details

The boards are narrow featuring proven proportions and dimensions. The main advantages: The shortness keeps the swing weight low for control and the balanced feel. In the air, the compact hulls provide the feeling of total control and dominance over the foil.

The even distribution of volume offers great stability and helps to lift off early. As a bonus, the volume in the nose provides sufficient float for uphauling on these short boards.

The forward section, the rounded rails with a defined tuck line feature slightly more volume for easier uphauling and are forgiving as they provide less drag on occasional touch-downs. They don’t slow down but instantly bounce-off the water, getting you up and flying again in an instant.

In the footstrap area, the deck comes with a slight dome. As a result, the ankle is not overstretched when leaning outboard in order to push and tilt the hull, and it is easier to get in and out of the straps. You feel totally connected to the board with great leverage over the foil which allows you to push your performance and fully exploit the power of the sail. Not only can you ‘ride’ but really ‘work’ the foil due to the perfect stance.

The cut-outs are very large. The benefit: Less volume and area allow you to sink the tail when pumping and loading up the foil. This results in an easy and instant take off as well as reduced drag on occasional touch-downs.

The thin profile limits drag once airborne and creates as little resistance as possible, which is very important when you are flying because strong gusts don’t affect the trim of the board. Your flight will be very stable and balanced.

133:

The third generation of the shape that started the foil hype for JP: It is still the most all-round size, covering a very wide wind range. It suits most rider weights and levels and works great with all sail sizes except the very biggest and smallest ones. The perfect one-for-all size for most sailors.

155:

Originally, this size was designed for foil races. Compared to pure performance boards, the volume and dimensions are reduced to the necessary maximum. It is the downsized, “freerace”, easy-handling and fun version. It also has a wide range but is especially targeted for light wind spots when used by big sailors or with big sails. Thanks to the bigger 6-hole foot strap plug, you can adapt your strap position to a wider variety of foil sizes.

Of course they come with JP’s reinforced Foil-Tuttlebox.

PERFORMANCE WIND-FOIL SLALOM COMPETITION

AERODYNAMIC MASTERPIECE

Flying faster on the foil than ever before – the HydroFoil Slalom enters 2026 with a new 85 generation designed to dominate in every condition. Our mission was clear: unlock more efficiency, more control, and more top speed in the air. The result is a board that redefines aerodynamic flow, stability, and rider comfort at high velocity.
Foiling has become the heart of modern slalom racing, and JP boards continue to lead this evolution. With decades of experience, our shaper Werner Gnigler once again pushed the boundaries, refining the outline, the rails, and the deck profile to deliver a board that accelerate earlier, release cleaner, and remain steadier when fully powered. Every detail was reconsidered for the competitive edge – from airflow release to deck stance, from cut-outs to control.
The HydroFoil Slalom line remains focused on the core sizes 80, 85, and 88, ensuring every rider finds the perfect match for their weight and wind range.

S-TEC:
Weight remains a decisive factor in foil racing. That’s why all HydroFoil Slalom boards continue to feature our groundbreaking S-TEC technology: minimalistic, ultra-light, and built without compromise.

  • No paint
  • Reduced anti-slip (only in stance area)
  • Slimmer pads, less EVA and glue
  • Optimized lamination with individually prepared fibres

The result is up to 300 grams lighter than conventional builds, while maintaining durability through strategic biax-carbon reinforcements. This construction gives every board earlier take-offs, sharper reactions, and unmatched control in flight.

HYDROFOIL SLALOM 85 – New for 2026

By optimizing our shape, the HF SL 85 has reached a new level of performance. Designed to perform across the widest wind range, it now features a slightly longer outline and optimized scoop-rocker line to enable earlier take-offs at lower speeds – while remaining compact thanks to the exceptionally sharp V-shape along the underside of the nose.

The deck shape has seen the biggest changes: reshaped with aerodynamic flow in mind, the hull’s lengthwise cross-section now works like a profile that minimizes drag, creates lift, and keeps the board stable in the air.

Every detail of the HF SL has been reworked with one goal: more speed, control, and efficiency. These design updates define the evolution of the HF SL 85:

  • New rail design: eliminates turbulence for smooth, stable airflow and efficient water release during take-offs and touchdowns.
  • Deck tail release cut-out: ensures clean airflow separation without turbulence.
  • Flatter deck around the front foot: improves rider leverage over the foil, generating more power.
  • Refined rail shape at the back foot: slightly smoother for maximum comfort and control.
  • Double strap plug option at the back foot: allows a more inboard position for extra control in strong winds; and a more outboard position for extra power on tight reaches and in lighter winds.

HYDROFOIL SLALOM 80 & 88

The 80 and 88 models remain unchanged for 2026, ensuring every rider can find the perfect board for their weight and racing conditions. Together with the new designed 85, they form the ultimate quiver for slalom foil racing.

SHAPE HIGHLIGHTS (all sizes)

  • Aerodynamic Nose Efficiency: flat scoop, thin rails, and domed nose deck create laminar airflow and stable lift.
  • Mast Base Area: full rails with sharp edges for efficient lift and smooth touchdowns.
