Patrik Sails
PATRIK: The challenge is the way forward.
Since many years Patrik aimed for a cooperation with a sail brand which unfortunately never happened. In December 2018, he decided to fold up his sleeves and jump into the unknown to develop his own sails. The challenge was big, but as we all know him the harder it gets the bigger grows his motivation. To not be influenced by current methods and/or pure sail designers Patrik went the hard way and examined sails down to their roots finding other ways of looking at relations between board and sail design.
Patrik: “After I found my way how to look at sail designs in relation to board shapes the even harder part was to convert my data and calculations into the existing sail design programs.”
Working together with “super-brain” and young blooded Italian automobile designer Fabio Canella who is not influenced by either board and sail designs makes everything even more refreshing.
Fabio: “Patrik’s ways how to look at things are amazing but also hard to follow. The hardest part for me is the “no more following the previous way” and all comes down to spend hours and days to convert all data into Patrik’s new vision.”
